It's Mad!

Headlining the Party at the Wharf on Saturday 18 July, Los Palmas 6 is a 7 piece and very authentic Madness Tribute Band and probably the best Madness tribute band in the world! In fact, the sax player, Steve Turner, played with the real Madness for 8 years.

The other musicians in the Madness Tribute Band LP6 are also world class musicians with world tours and European festivals under their belt. They have also played and recorded with other Ska and Punk giants such as Bad Manners, The UK Subs, Peter and the Test Tube babies, The Hotknives and The Lee Thompson Ska Orchestra.

It'll be a night to remember, so book your tickets now to avoid disappointment!

Conducting workshop

The Randers Chamber Orchestra from Denmark gave a wonderful concert in Oundle on Friday 5 June. The next morning they were all up bright and early to give a conducting workshop to students at the Nene Valley Performing Arts Centre's Satruday session at Prince William School. Around twenty young musicians joined trhe orchestra under it's conductor, David Riddell, to find out just exactly what a conductor actually does.

It was a fun session and a great deal was learnt, not least by six of the youngters who were able to conduct the orchestra for themselves and discover that it takes a lot more than just waving your arms around to make music!

Welcome

FrancesEmmawebWe are delighted to welcome two new members to the team at Oundle International Festival and Oundle for Organists HQ in New Street. Frances Mansergh joins us as Communications and Courses Manager and Emma Cooper as Festival and Box Office Administrator.

Following a distinguished career in the Royal Navy, Frances and her husband moved to Oundle two years ago where they have found a perfect environment in which to bring up their young family. She brings a great deal of experience of media, press and communications which was her specialisation during her time in the Navy.

Emma has lived in Oundle most of her life and worked for the last few years in Northampton. She has specialised in administration and is looking forward to developing Oundle Box Office as well as being able to enjoy a much shorter commute to the office!
