Conversation with the Trees
Taking place between Monday 28th June and Friday 2nd July at Fineshade Woods near Corby, ‘Conversation with the Trees’ is a remarkable new participatory education project that combines a fresh and invigorating study of music and its relationship to the natural world.
Presented by a partnership of the Oundle International Festival, the ForestryCommission, The Royal Society for the Protection of the Birds, and Corby Forest Schools Project, children from all over Northamptonshire have been invited to experience a sequence of stimulating activities in the company of leading experts.
Visits will last approximately 2½ hours and school and school groups
will move from one activity to another in a revolving pattern,
allowing us to accommodate three full-size classes in any single
morning or afternoon session. To date 14 schools have signed up to
bring 580 children to take part in this exciting project. However,
there are still just a handful of slots available and if you would
like to bring a group along then please contact Angus Smith
(angussmith@oundlefestival.org) for further information.
THE ACTIVITIES:
· African Drumming Workshop, with Paul Butler of Drummers United
· A tour of the Fineshade Wood site in the company of resident
Forestry Commission workshop leaders
· An introduction to the fabulous world of the beautiful and
awe-inspiring Red Kite, hosted by experienced RSPB Field Rangers
